Class Description:

In this 3-hour sewing workshop, you will go through the process of sewing a beautiful, customized apron just in time for the holidays. You’ll learn basic sewing techniques, how to operate a sewing machine, and how to cut and assemble an apron from a pattern. This is a beginner-friendly class, and no previous sewing experience is necessary!

Embroidery Basics

Class Description:

In this 2-hour session, children will discover the joy of transforming thread and fabric into art. We will explore fundamental embroidery stitches and techniques, culminating in each participant crafting a delightful, self-stitched flower piece. This class is more than just learning – it’s about nurturing creativity, boosting confidence, and finding joy in the art of making. By the end of the session, you will have absorbed valuable knowledge, practiced new skills, and discovered the fun of creating your own embroidery piece!

As a keepsake of your embroidery adventure, you’ll take home a charming self-stitched flower piece. This experience serves as a stepping stone to a creative hobby that can bring joy for years to come.

Class Schedule:

This class schedule is a flexible guide. We appreciate the uniqueness of each child’s learning pace and style, and we’re always ready to adapt to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience for all.

1. Welcome and Introduction (0 – 10 minutes): We start by getting to know each other and discussing our class objectives.

2. Introduction to Tools and Materials (10 – 30 minutes): Participants will become familiar with embroidery tools and materials, setting the stage for a safe and confident start.

3. Mastering Basic Stitches (30 – 60 minutes): This segment offers a hands-on experience with fundamental embroidery stitches like the running stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, and the French knot.

4. Creating Your Flower Piece (60 – 105 minutes): Participants will then apply their newfound skills to create a lovely flower piece, with the instructor providing guidance throughout.

5. Finishing and Care Tips (105 – 120 minutes): We’ll end by discussing how to care for the embroidered piece and sharing ideas for future embroidery projects.

Important Note:

As we’ll be stitching under the warm Tennessee sun, we recommend bringing along a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the class. We do have fans to ensure a cool learning environment, but having your water at hand is a smart move.

Calling all pint-sized Picassos! Hidden Bee Farm is the place to be this summer! We’re hosting a vibrant, laughter-filled thumbprint art party perfect for your creative little ones aged 2 and up. This isn’t just any art class – we’re combining the thrill of art, the charm of our friendly farm animals, and an abundance of fun!

Class Details:

This one-hour class promises to be a whirl of color and giggles. Using their thumbs as brushes, children will have a blast creating their own farmyard-themed masterpieces, featuring bees, horses, chickens, and more!

As all artists know, creativity can get a bit messy, so please ensure your child is wearing clothes ready for a paint splatter or two.

• Each child will have a variety of non-toxic paints, markers, and paper at their disposal to create vibrant finger/thumbprint art.
