Welcome to Hidden Bee Farm and Hidden Bee Learning Program!
To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for all children, we ask that both parents and children adhere to the following guidelines:
General Behavior Guidelines
Respect for Others:
All children are expected to treat peers, staff, and volunteers with kindness and respect. Bullying, teasing, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and safe.
Listening and Following Instructions:
Children must listen to and follow instructions given by staff and volunteers for their safety and the safety of others. This ensures smooth operation of activities and helps maintain a secure environment.
Participation:
Active participation in all activities is encouraged. Children should come ready to engage and learn, bringing a positive attitude and a willingness to try new things.
Farm-Specific Guidelines
Respect for Animals:
Children must treat all farm animals with care and respect. Harming or threatening to harm an animal is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate dismissal from the program. This guideline helps teach the importance of empathy and compassion towards all living beings.
Appropriate Clothing:
Children should wear clothes suitable for farm activities, including close-toed shoes and attire that can get dirty. Long hair should be tied back for safety reasons. Proper attire helps ensure children can participate comfortably and safely in all activities.
Safety:
Children must stay within designated areas of the farm and must not climb fences or enter restricted zones without permission from staff. Adhering to this guideline helps prevent accidents and ensures that everyone stays safe while exploring the farm.
Hygiene and Health
Handwashing:
Children must wash their hands after handling animals and before eating. Good hygiene practices help prevent the spread of germs and keep everyone healthy.
Sick Policy:
Children who are sick or exhibit symptoms of illness should not attend the program. If aTo maintain a healthy environment for all participants, children exhibiting symptoms of illness should not attend the program. Common symptoms warranting exclusion include:
- Fever (temperature above 100.4°F or 38°C)
- Rash, especially if accompanied by fever or behavioral changes
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Persistent cough or difficulty breathing
- Sore throat, particularly with fever or swollen glands
- Eye discharge indicative of conjunctivitis (pink eye)
If a child develops any of these symptoms during the day, parents will be contacted to pick up their child promptly. In some cases, a doctor’s note will be required for the child to return, particularly if they exhibit symptoms of:
- Contagious conditions like strep throat, conjunctivitis, or skin infections
- Unexplained rash or other symptoms that might indicate a communicable illness
- COVID-19 or other serious illnesses requiring confirmation of recovery
This policy aligns with standard health guidelines to ensure the well-being of all participants.
Special Accommodations
Support for Special Needs:
We strive to accommodate children with special needs and will do our best to provide the appropriate support. However, if we are unable to meet the specific needs of your child, we are happy to help facilitate alternative arrangements. Parents may need to provide additional support, such as a one-on-one aide, to ensure their child can fully participate in the program.
Inclusive Environment:
We welcome all children and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and ensure that each child feels included and valued, regardless of their background or abilities.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that Hidden Bee Farm and Hidden Bee Learning Program provide a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for all children. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
