Set on the historic grounds of Hidden Bee Farm, established in 1843, this camp offers a rare opportunity to explore the past through real-life excavation and artifact discovery—all while uncovering a few carefully placed surprises! 😉

From pottery shards to antique farm relics, campers will use real excavation tools to dig, discover, and piece together history, just like real archaeologists.

🏺 Hands-On Excavation & Artifact Discovery

✔ Dig for artifacts – Campers will use small excavation tools to carefully uncover hidden treasures.
✔ Reconstruct history – Learn how archaeologists restore broken artifacts and put clues together.
✔ Analyze discoveries – Study relics to determine what they were used for and their significance.
✔ Preserve and document finds – Just like real archaeologists, campers will log their discoveries.

🏡 Exploring the Past at Hidden Bee Farm

This camp brings history to life with hands-on experiences that teach kids about the people, tools, and daily life of the past. Campers will:
✔ Learn about the 1840s homestead and how early settlers lived.
✔ Discover how tools, pottery, and artifacts help us understand history.
✔ Study how farmers and craftspeople worked the land and created goods.

🔬 Science Meets History

Campers will also explore how science plays a role in archaeology, learning how experts:
✔ Analyze soil layers to determine the age of artifacts.
✔ Use scientific dating techniques to place objects in history.
✔ Examine materials and patterns to piece together the story of the past.

🎨 Age-Appropriate Activities

This camp is designed for ages 5-12, and campers are often broken into smaller groups to ensure activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and tailored to their skill levels. Whether it’s carefully excavating fragile relics or creating their own “historical artifact,” each child gets the best experience possible for their age group!

💦 Free Time & Water Play Every Day!

We know summer can be hot, so every camp will include plenty of free time and water play to keep cool and have fun! Whether it’s sprinklers, splash buckets, or creek time (depending on water levels)—there’s always a way to beat the heat and enjoy summer!

Safety is our top priority, and all activities will be supervised with plenty of helping hands to ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and engaged. We maintain a balance of fun and learning, with tons of hands-on exploration so campers can immerse themselves in the excitement of discovery with confidence!

🎒 What to Bring & Wear

✔ Closed-toe shoes (a must for safety!)
✔ A snack & lunch
✔ Clothes that can handle getting dirty or wet
✔ Water shoes, a towel, & a water bottle
✔ Plenty of sunscreen – We’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors, so please apply sunscreen before camp and pack extra for reapplication!

🗓 Dates & Times

• Ages: 5-12 (Campers are often grouped by age for activities)
• Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday
• Session Dates: June 16 – June 20

💲Camp Payment Policy /Cost & Registration

Camp Cost: $175 per session.

• Early Bird Discount: Save $25 per camper/session if you pay in full by February 17, 2025.
• Final Payment Deadline: All camp sessions must be paid in full by May 1, 2025.
  • If payment is not received by this date, your child’s spot may be canceled and offered to the waitlist.
  • If you need to set up a payment plan, we’re happy to help—just reach out!
• Payment Methods: We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover.
• Deposit: A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at registration and will be deducted from your final bill.
• Payment Link: Once your deposit is made, you will receive a link to complete your final payment.
• Automatic Discount: If you choose to pay in full at the time of registration, the $25 Early Bird Discount will automatically be applied if paid before February 17, 2025.

🔄 Cancellation & Refund Policy

• Non-Refundable Deposit: The $50 deposit is non-refundable if you cancel at any time for any reason.
• Session Transfers: You can switch sessions at no extra cost, but changes are subject to availability.
• Cancellations & Waitlists:
  • If you need to cancel, you cannot find your own replacement.
  • All cancellations and waitlist requests must go through the camp office.
